The 2003 AEJP conference at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City brought together almost 40 people from across the United States who work at publications with a Jesuit slant.

Fr. Raymond Schroth, SJ, opened the conference with a talk on ethics and journalism. All participants found sessions that were of use to them. These sessions included a varied palette of topics like: the Ignatian vision, proofreading tricks and techniques, a how-to on constructing course catalogs, and web development and design trends.

Outside experts included award-winning photojournalist Joe McNally and David McCraw, an attorney for the New York Times, who discussed First Amendment responsibilities and libel risks.

Phil Nero, Matt Roche, SJ, and Donna Wiench discuss ways that publications can promote the Ignatian vision and mission of the institutions they represent.
