The 2004 AEJP conference took place at Marquette University from July 11 through July 13 with over 50 members in attendance. Sessions included magazine critiques by Brady & Paul Communications, who specialize in editorial design, magazine critiques and makeovers, and ways of rejuvenating publications.

Brady and Paul also discussed magazine design trends and cost-efficient ideas for editors and art directors.

Don Doll, SJ, who teaches photography and videography at Creighton University, gave an overview of the digital photography process, as well as a lesson on how to layout photos on a spread.

Participants also enjoyed one another's company. On Sunday attendees had a night out at Azteca, a Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee. Monday evening featured a cocktail party and a banquet, which was followed by a comedy act.
