Fr. John Predmore, SJ, will talk about the 2006 anniversaries (500 years—births of Xavier and Favre; 450 years—death of Ignatius).

Your Campus History
Dave Burrell (www.historicalinsights.com) has done historical research for the College of the Holy Cross, his alma mater, and Regis University. He will speak about how to research and write a history of your whole institution or just a building or two.

Participants from high schools, universities, colleges, provinces, etc., to gather in these groups for howdys and conversation.

Digital Photography
Barry Staver starts his all-morning photography workshop, so bring your digital camera. He’ll talk about setting up a photo, lighting, composition, etc., indoors and out. Participants will have Monday afternoon and evening to shoot pics to be reviewed Tuesday morning. You can check out his website at www.barrystaver.com. N.B.: Read your camera manual BEFORE you come.
Style Sheets
All (coming to the conference or not) are invited to take a survey at www.aejp.net/style.htm to answer questions about the style book(s) they use and to list the rules about capitalization, usage, etc., for their publication. This will be a standing resource on the web, a great way of enhancing, fine tuning, or creating your own house style sheet. Participants in this session, led by Company’s Fr. Dick Vandevelde, SJ, can download responses that interest them. Adult Learning Center 203 (“A”).

Graphic Design for the Non-Designer
Regis University graphic artists Mariea Monday-Richardson, Chad Bratten, and Josh Hardin will team-teach a session that goes over good design basics.

Working With Freelance Writers
Sally Stich, from the American Society of Journalists and Authors, will join us for a discussion of the care and feeding of freelancers. Participants can discuss their experiences with freelancers and perhaps share some names.

Transportation
Please e-mail your flight arrival information to manager@aejp.net. An e-mail containing the flight information of all who respond will be e-mailed to all who respond. Individuals can then contact others on this list and arrange cab- and shuttle-sharing.

Attendees who are driving can get a parking sticker at check-in, no charge.
Housing
We will be in Regis’s Townhome apartments, each with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths plus living/dining and washer/dryer! Singles: $35 per night; doubles $30. Includes sheets, towel, and soap. Phones in common area (local calls are free; bring a phone card for long distance); data jacks in bedrooms, so bring your laptop if you want. Computers also available in library.
Check-in starts Saturday, July 16; check-out is noon on Wednesday, July 20.
Rec facilities include weights and aerobic equipment and nice running/jogging routes in the area. More details at check-in.
Attendees can also stay at the DoubleTree Hotel at the AEJP conference rate of $79 per night. Call (303) 427-4000 and ask for the Regis rate. Includes a hot breakfast buffet and free shuttle to and from Regis (you’ll need to schedule shuttle ahead of time).
Weather
While conference dress is casual and July tends to be among the warmer months (daytime ranges from the low 70s to the mid 90s), temps at night can be in the 60s in town and cooler up where we’ll be going for the banquet. So bring shorts and sandals but also warmer clothes. Don’t forget sunscreen and shades and a raincoat (sometimes Denver gets brief afternoon thunderstorms).
Meals
Breakfasts on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be at the cafeteria in the Student Center (west edge of Boettcher Commons).
On Saturday night: Company magazine pizza party at the Townhome Commons Area.
On Sunday night: Chuckwagon barbecue on campus.
On Monday night: Boettcher Mansion banquet. Buses leave campus at 6:00 and return by 9:45.
And we're planning an outing to The Fort restaurant (www.thefort.com) for anyone staying over on Tuesday night.

BY CAR
Regis is in the northwest section of Denver. Get on I-70 going west from the airport (from the north or south, take I-25 to I-70 and proceed west on I-70). From I-70, exit on Federal Boulevard and drive north on Federal to Regis Boulevard. Turn left (west) on Regis Boulevard and drive to Lowell Boulevard. Turn right (north) on Lowell Boulevard, enter entrance number four, and follow signs to visitor parking located behind Main Hall on the east side of the lot.
